This has been a very good tournament to this stage, and as others have said I’m actually pretty confident about her match against Dementieva. Hopefully she isn’t as nervous as she was against Myskina at RG. She needs to get off to a good start, with Ana you can normally determine how well she will play by the first few games.
ana should have beat dementieva both times. i don't care what anyone thinks about her, she is overrated and probably the weakest player in the top 10. she is a tough opponent, though.
i'm not really dissappointed if ana played well. i wish her better luck in doubles. the tournament is not over yet.
That's what makes it so frustrating. In many of the matches she's lost she's had opportunities. In Sydney she should have won that first set v Kuznetsova, in Antwerp that first set v Petrova was winnable, today again she should have won the first set. Should have, could have, blah. It's all water under the bridge now. Sigh ... hopefully the tournament in which she puts it all together comes soon.
On a tangent, I was at Ana's site now and there's someone who asked whether Ana wants to take beautiful pictures ala Kournikova or be a great tennis player. I think he/she should get together with ezekiel

Dementieva does have some key qualities, as she always fights and has strong groudstrokes. And she can play for hours on end.
But yeah, I am disappointed that she lost. But a good win in the doubles... she got some revenge against Dementieva!
Ana and Masha wasted some bps to be a break up in the 2nd and 3rd sets but as azdaja said, it's a good tournament overall :yeah:
They beat 2 very good teams (Dementieva/Pennetta and Daniliidou/Medina)
I wasn't expecting such a big tournament in doubles at all, and I was nervous about the 1st round for singles, so overall, I am stoked about her results this week... Looks promising, but yes, that QF should have been at least a 3 setter!
