News

A little news has been released here in Hobart about the tournament. The local newspaper says that the tournament director is expecting that Jie Zheng will return to defend her title. They are also hoping to get Sania Mirza and Gisela Dulko to play here. Both played here this year. I know that Mariana Diaz Oliva is coming to Hobart.

Does anyone know when entry lists for Hobart, and Sydney and Canberra, are coming out?

Hi Kirsten05!

I don't know when the entry lists are coming out, but I know that Michaela Krajicek will play in Hobart!

It was reported in the newspaper today that Suarez has requested a wildcard to play singles here!

Jie Zheng has been moved to Sydney by the CTA. I think many of the Chinese girls have been moved there.

Zheng has requested a wildcard to play Hobart coz she didn't make sydney main draw or something. The one wildcard left (Pratt already has the other one) has also been offered to Hingis, and Suarez wants one too.

Can someone please explain to me the gold silver exempt wildcard and how that works??

As much as I like Zheng, she should stick with Sydney quali and let the WC given to OZ players.

Smile... When you do, it may change someone's day

=Good luck to my favourite players: Mirjana Lucic, Elena Dementieva, Li Na, Maria Kirilenko, Daniela Hantuchova, Vera Zvonareva, Zheng Jie, Venus Williams =

Zheng isn't playing in Hobart, she probably didn't get a wildcard. She has decided to play only doubles in Sydney. So this will hopefully get an aussie a wildcard now, if suarez is gold/silver exempt!
