Re: Maria in Pattaya

Well done to Kiri on beating a red hot Vesnina in straight sets. I hope Maria plays well in the semis against Cristea because she will need to to make the Pattaya final the second consecutive year.

Why are Kiri and Sori playing their semi on court 1?

Thank you MaKiri.
So it'll be in our Italian morning.

Re: Maria in Pattaya

Kirilenko fought off two set points in the first set tie-break and reeled off five straight games down 3-1 in the second set to get past Elena Vesnina, 76(6) 63.

"Elena has improved a lot this year," Kirilenko said. "It seems she has been working very hard. Now she looks like a Top 20 player. It was a difficult match. The first set was very tight, almost one-and-a-half hours. The second set I definitely played better. I'm just happy I was able to get through such a tough match."

Kirilenko is now 4-0 against her fellow 26-year-old Russian.

"It was a great match against Maria," Vesnina said. "I was just a little bit unlucky in the first set tie-break, with one or two balls making the difference. I tried to come back in the second set, but I just didn't have the energy. It feels like I played two tournaments this week with the conditions and all the rain. But no excuses, Maria is a great Top 20 player, a fighter."

Maria and Elena are good friends and you can tell it by how they talk about each other. Too bad they aren't a doubles team.

Thanks for the court info mish.

Re: Maria in Pattaya

I really want her to win this whole thing and end her title drought. Best of luck against Cirstea lil' Masha

This is probably the reason of my anxiety about a tournament that is actually not so much important... I want to see her winning a single title so badly.

Comincierà proprio a mezzogiorno spaccato, infatti.

Re: Maria in Pattaya

Apart from her match vs. Errani no complaints this season so far. Good luck in the SF vs. Cirstea.

Re: Maria in Pattaya

The match has begun, Cirstea serving.

Captain Matthew Gideon: I may have an idea.
Dureena Nafeel: I don't think you've recovered from your last good idea.
Captain Matthew Gideon: That would explain it.

Maria holds for 2-0 1st set at love. Now break Maria.
