Did Maria perhaps mention anything about her injury? hopefully she plays and she doesn't withdraw, although i prefer if she is 200% fit first, rather than making a return and possibly making her injury worse.
MK has to defend the title here, glad she has a great partner for it
Vika, on paper, probably shouldn't be the best for Maria (She would do best with a big server, so she can put away the easy volleys) but she has great chemistry with Vika and they just work. I wouldn't be surprised to see them go far here, especially if either of them struggle in singles.
Russian tennis player Maria Kirilenko seeded 6th at the KC had told RIA Novosti that to win KC had been her dream she'd try to embode this time. KC is the last tournament of the season for Kirilenko
"I have had many tournaments, flights, trainings this year. I feel tired both mentally and physically. But I think it's great that the last tournament of the season is held in Moscow. This fact gives me extra emotions, so I don't even take notice of my tiredness. To win KC is my dream."
The Russian also mentioned that the draw was "tough" this year, and her first round opponent Dulgheru was a serious opponent.
" I had never played against Dulgheru before, but I know her to be very tough opponent. She plays very well on clay courts. Maybe she hasn't performed that well lately, but she's the player who fights till the end and almost does not make UEs. First round is always the most difficult and important."
According to Maria she herself is the most dangerous threat for her at tournaments.
"My level of play depends only on me. If I feel well, I can beat anyone." - she said.
