Makiri injured?

I thought I saw a pic of her lying on the court while being attended to by a trainer. Anyone know the whole story?

And while we are at it, is her left knee giving her trouble? She used to wear a big brace. Today I only saw a little garter-belt type thing there. What's that for?

She didn't wear anything on her knee during the US Open. If she was lying on court being attended by a trainer, it may have been cramps

She injured her shoulder at the Pilot Pen in 2004 and it affected her the rest of the year. Hopefully, it isn't the same injury. If it is the same injury or a similar one, she might as well just shut it down for the year. Her ranking is going to drop anyway. It is better to let the shoulder heal and go into 2007 at full strength than to keep playing and have to miss the start of the season.

I agree with House that Little Masha should shut it down for the rest of the season if she's injured. She has played injured for part of the year and it has hurt her game. Makiri can't play through injuries and doesn't have the power or weapons to win matches when she's battling an injury. I hope she is getting the right advice from her team of advisors. But I have my doubts because her advisors haven't gotten her to work with a top coach for an entire season yet. Maria really needs a good coach to help her out.
