I wonder what kind of "monster" could be born from these two champions.
Now there are a lot of people that bet about Agassi-Graf children. it seems that they are fated to become tennis champions (instead I wonder if they will be never tennis players!! I don't believe it).
I don't believe it either. Imagine the pressure that they would have on their shoulders.

I remembered watching the match live, and despite the score, I knew watching her on grass that she could contend on any surface.

She played the same way vs. Martina in the only other time they played at Wimbledon. Gaby might have tried mixing it up a bit more and keeping Martina in the backcourt more. Even when Gaby was at net, Martina was very good at picking her passing shots and lobbing over Gaby.

Still, great memories.
Anybody has this match for the sharing ?
BTW Sabatini in 1990 SF vs Navratilova which i have, and will be posted by me in the year 2021 probably (when Chavez leaves Venezuela for good and if keep my promises of sharing the matches at mistime ), showed a Sabatini that could have beaten Navratilova but it was more condifence than anything, she was low very low on confidence by that Wimbledon 1990 SF, but shot for shot and winner to winner in comparisson Gaby looked superior to Navratilova, the thing is that Navy was on her garden and was much more organized on match strategy, she knew what to do, while Gaby was testing the waters with her new "attack the net" style.

Since CUBA is the paradise-greatest thing (comunism-socialism) of the world we could get them all there to the Island so they all get to be presidents of the same sh.t at the same time.

Re: The Gabriela Sabatini Thread!

Is it me or does Gaby look like the prettier sister of Penelope Cruz in that picture that tubumochi posted?

Best left-right combination by a German (and that includes Max Schmeling): Steffi Graf. All she did in 1987 was knock Navratilova out of #1 and try to knock Evert out of the sport. (Mike Lupica in "The Best and Worst of Tennis in 1987", World Tennis)

"A couple of years ago, we nicknamed Steffi Graf's forehand 'Jaws'. And that music would go perfectly when she starts running in to the net, swarming on that little ball." (JoAnne Russell, during the 1988 Wimbledon final between Graf and Navratilova)
