Darren Cahill

Hey Darren! I forgot to tell you that I kept seeing Darren Cahill (or, um you... I guess) at the Nasdaq 100 last week. Before the Mark Phillipusis match Darren was warming Andre up on stadium court and I was working the box seats so I walked down courtside to get a good look at the two.

Darren is quite cute up close. He seems to still be in excellent shape (is he older than Andre?). He does need to wear more sunscreen though...he has total Florida skin (red, overly tan face). But overall he is a hottie!

Oh i agree Mark! And sorry it took so long to find this thread....being a bit bored i did a search with my name in it (well HIS name, and god, how narcissistic was that? doing a search for posts mentioning ME? )

anyways, i've met Darren on two ocassions and he is really nice and yes, HOT! he does have that weathered look though...like hes real leathery if that makes sense...way too much sun...i was looking at his hands while he signed my book and they were so rough looking...i've told quite a few stories about him on these threads so i'll spare you them again...unless of course you dont mind hearing them again? asking him to dinner was a classic as was me going on and on about my fave match of his and wasnt even a match he played! took a while to get my foot out of my mouth with that one! Speaking of feet....he has really cute feet too....and anyone who knows me knows thats of utmost importance!

thanks for thinking of me!

I'll try to make this brief as i'm sure i've posted this a million times.....i met him at the Ericcson (when it was still that) in 2000 and he was still Hewitts coach...they were on a back court on the day before the first day of play....me and my friend were there on vacation and were on key biscayne and i think it was only like 5 bucks to wander the grounds and watch qualifiying and the various people on the practise courts...i waited over ONE HOUR for hewitt to finish and he wasnt very friendly...i do like him though but i would never approach him after how he acted...i was waiting for Darren though as i always liked him and when they came off the court ---hewitt i'm assuming figured i was waiting for him and he said "I'm not signing today" i said "well ok, i was waiting for darren though" there was a lot of tension between darren and hewitt, i felt darren was embarrased that he got attention and probably was gonna get an ass whopping later for that! LOL

when darren was signing my book (and i also have a pic i'll post that i took of him) i told him he was a fave of mine and i loved the match of him and Lendl at the us open in 1988 when he reached the semis and how happy i was for him and he said "thats funny, i never played Lendl at the open" well Mark, talk about total humiliation...i wanted to cry literally cause i was so nervous anyways, and then to really fuck that up...i felt like that was my chance to prove i did know who he was....i think he realized how bitchy he sounded and he saved it by saying "i did play Lendl at Wimbledon that year and i'm sure thats what you are thinking of" and i said "yes" even though i wasnt....i looked it up when i got home and sure enough, he played Wilander at the US open (semis) and Lendl played Agassi...i could just KICK myself! thats when i said me and some friends were going to the hard rock for dinner later and did he want to come...he never answered me....

also met him later that summer at the US open and he rememberd me...i said "i met you before" and he said "i know, it was here last year" and i said, no it was at the Ericson and he said 'well i know you from somewhere" it was kinda creepy now that i think of it cause i am sure i was the only autograph requests he got and remembered me cause no one else pines for him like i do! he was very nice though...met Pat Cash right after that and he was the nicest of them all...imagine that!

photo time! darren cahill (still managing to smile even after i screwed up his match history!)

Haha! Great stories and pics, Darren!

I wonder why he didn't tell you that he played Wilander instead of Lendl in that US semi...cause I am pretty sure that was the only US semi he reached, so it was an easy mistake on your part since he WAS in the semies that year, regardless of who he played.

Wow...Darren looks hot with his shirt off.

Funny also that he didn't even answer the dinner invite...I bet he didn't know what to say. You big stalker! Haha!

Thanks for retelling the stories. I totally enjoyed reading them.

p.s. Lletyon Hewitt is such a twt!

Mark, he was probably afraid to reply to the dinner invite as i was practically shaking at the site of him and just stuttering and stammering and then almost in tears when he busted my match stats...he thought...damn, i got me a miami queen on my hands...did i tell you about the part while taking his photo...hewitt yells out "I'm leaving now" and just walked off...you could just tell darren was so tense...like hewitt was a real hand full

KEITH!!!

its funny cause Hewitt first acted all big and bad saying "NOT SIGNING TODAY" and then when darren got some attention (albeit fucked up attention LOL) he was just stewing standing there...i could feel the daggers and he was behind me!

its funny cause Hewitt is actually my favorite player....i just dont care for him in person...i had no desire to meet/talk to him...he just gave off this unapproachable vibe..which is cool...but i was like, dont be all bossy saying you aint signing, then get all pissed off when your coach gets some attention...i just loved the "I"M LEAVING" comment...i felt like i was trapped in Madonnas Truth or dare documentary
