1966 Computer Rankings

I've been away for quite awhile, but I saw that someone had updated the 1966 results. I came up with a computer top 100. Gave points for finishes in tournaments (as few as 1 for winners of obscure events and as many as 100 for winning Wimbledon). I tried to read and evaluate tournaments based on the reputation of the event and the strength of the field. I also gave points for wins in Wightman and Fed Cup events (other events were available the same weeks, so anyone could play events - unlike now). Bonus points were given for wins over top ten and top five players (based on 1965 and 1966 rankings). This is no objective science, so anything is debatable, especially as you get further down the list. I was just intrigued to find out where lesser-known players might have finished during the day.

Re: 1966 Computer Rankings

Hi Preacherfan

Cool list. I hope it was fun to put together.

I know our old friend Chris would be pleased to see Ann Jones so high at #3, and so close to passing Billie jean, LOL.

Ann Jones had a fantastic year. A long undefeated stretch - defeated King at Federation Cup. Interestingly, she didn't play the US Champs in 1966. Had she won there, she would've been an undisputed #1.
