Comparing Rosewall's and Henin's game

When I look at clips of Ken Rosewall and Justine Henin, they have a fascinating resemblance to me. Both have never won Wimbledon of course. But have done well on clay. They are about the same height.

Re: Comparing Rosewall's and Henin's game

Yes some similariites but of course Rosewall had that economy of style with his elegant and graceful strokes. He was much more like Goolagong IMO. Such a pure stroker of the ball and his razor like backhand slice has been virtually unmatched except perhaps by Goolagong at her peak and of course Federer. Henin does have a beautiful game too although of course she plays a lot of topspin, something that Rosewall didn't. But both majestic players for sure.

As for Wimbledon, Ken was a finalist 4 times and was unable to play for 11 of his peak years when he was ineligible as he turned pro. So I have no doubt he would have captured some titles there considering he won on grass at the US Open and Aussie Opens both before he turned pro, and after (in his mid to late 30s!).

Thanks for bringing them up!

THe two had wonderful backhand .Rosewall had may be the most elegant of all times ,i remember him at Roland Garros ,all the family was sticked on the TV when he played ,such a gentleman ! Justine does have a beautiful backhand with topspin ,sorry she must stop his carrier because of injury .Nowadays there's no place for people under 1m80 ...

So true about Ken at Wimbledon. Love them both! They are my all-time favorite male and female players.

Both great to watch. And both with marvelous backhands. Apart from that, I don't really see the resemblance. If you really watched Henin over the last several years, especially when she was #1, she tried to control the court more with her forehand. Was always surprised how often she ran around backhand to hit a forehand. And unlike Rosewall, she had the ability to come over and hit backhand with topspin, or flat. In fact, while Henin was one of the few in her day to employ a slice backhand, I don't think it was a particular strength, other than it was part of her overall variety.
