New Main Draw

Nadia Petrova moved into the bracket slot vacated by Kuznetsova, and 2004 Pilot Pen finalist Nathalie Dechy took Petrova’s original spot in the bracket.

Jelena Jankovic moved into the bracket slot left by Myskina’s withdrawal. A lucky loser (the highest ranked player to lose in the qualifying draw) will take Dechy’s original spot in the draw. Since Myskina received a wild card into the Pilot Pen, the tournament was able to add American Meghann Shaughnessy into the tournament as an "alternate wild card."

Lindsay Davenport USA [1] vs. Bye
Tatiana Golovin FRA vs. Q
Nuria Llagostera Vives ESP vs. Daniela Hantuchova SLK

and I'm not even fan of Ana Ivanovic... just an objective observer who realize how perfect she is

AMAZING BELGRADE MIRACLE: In just three years (2008-2011) 5 different players born in same city reach world #1 in rankings and several GS titles and finals (WTA singles: Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, ATP singles: Novak Djokovic, ATP doubles: Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor... with notable performances of Bojana Jovanovski, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki which is also all three born in Belgrade)

It doesn't get any easier for Jelena Jankovic, does it? No sooner had she escaped playing Petrova than she's drawn to play an in-form Chakvetadze.

SF is not enough for Lindsay to get to #1. She needs the final and 15 quality points in 3 matches before the final.

There was a possibilty that two very low ranked qualifiers would somehow sneak onto Lindsay's way before the final. Then final would not be enough for her (very low ranked Q - Llagostera Vives - very low ranked Q). Well, low ranked qualifiers lost in the qualifying draw.

If there are no walkovers, Lindsay needs the final and the final will be good enough for 15 quality points no matter who she plays.

Not that I want Petrova to withdraw, but another LL spot would be nice for Jie.

I saw Nadia on the practice courts just 1/2 an hour ago and she looked very fit and ready to play. Assuming that nothing else happens, i'm sure she won't withdraw.

As for Meghann, we saw her practicing at like 11 am, then just before we left at about 1:30 so she is really active and ready to play. At first we couldn't figure out why she was even out there, but now i know

Did you see Maggie practising? How good was she?

unfortunately i didn't see Maggie.

I did see:

Lindsay Davenport- looked a little bit tight but i don't think her injury will bother her.
Alicia Molik
Abigail Spears
Corina Morariu
Meghann Shaughnessy
Nadia Petrova
Lisa McShea
Gisela Dulko
Emilie Loit
Lisa Raymond (a lot!)

and i think that's it, i basically sat by the practice courts all day, lol
