Now that "Operation Search-&-Destroy Huge Signitures" is ended with success....

... how about turning your attention to eliminating location text with a large entry. For those of us who have no choice but to use crappy browsers, a large location description will totally ruine the formatting of the page and makes it very inconvenient to browse threads. An example is here: http://individual.utoronto.ca/dawit/snapshot3.png . As you can see the location text totally covers the page, so one has to use the side scroll bar constantly to see who posted the message and then to see the message. To say the least, it's irritating.

(btw, I am not trying to pick on any one; just wanted this problem resolved)

So, how about setting a limit on the number of letters a user can enter for location description?

Thanks.

thanks for making me aware of this... I didn't know some browsers were displaying it this way, and i also didn't know the location field was set to 250 characters max which is way to much

i've set it to 20 characters max but i dont know if that's going to automatically change all the ones that are now over 20.. let me know if you still have the prob with side scrolling

Thanks, poe. But, the problem persists (I guess the limit doesn't apply to people with already huge location text). Anyways, here is the username of one of the offenders: Cariosity. May be you could send her a PM to ask her to modify it, b/c I wasn't able too (she turned of her PM).

Thanks cariosity for changing your location. You are right about the PM (it was I who turned off the PM so can't send messages).

Now, if only nueva_armada, Lucyfer and JoeyWinson3.0 would follow your lead?
