Re: Editing Posts

Could you please post the URL to the thread so I can look into it.

Has this occurred anywhere else on the forum for you? As well what browser are you using to view the forum?

Re: Editing Posts

I looked into the permissions and it turns out there is no editing ability for users on the forum. This is why you're unable to edit any posts.

Re: Editing Posts

Are you going to alter the permissions, or are you just telling us that and assuming your job is done?

The permissions have always been like that. So to edit them, would make no sense. But If you let me know what you want changed I can change it for you.

Could you be a bit more specific about which permission you are talking about? Xian is a registered user. Registered users can edit their own posts.

In that section (Satelites) registered users are aparrently unable to edit their posts. For some reason that section has different permission settings than every other section on the forum. Might want to look that.

There is nothing in the forum settings to suggest that. Posts in that forum could always be edited as well. Which is why I asked the webmaster team to be more specific in their answer. You can switch off the ability to edit posts per usergroup, they were always switched on for Registered Users (as Xian is).

well I made a post, which I edited and then deleted without any issue. So either someone changed something or it's some kind of issue on Xian's end.

Could be, but the explanation given was about permissions. Which is why it would be helpful to know which permissions are meant.

Re: Editing Posts

James, I think HB and myself were both looking in the Admin Cp < V bulletin options < Messaging and Editting options. I looked into the setting for the satellites section of the forum and you're correct. There is the ability to edit in this forum. Xian, I played around with your usergroup setting. Could you let me know if this fixed your editing issue. If not I will have to get the techs to look into your account issue.

Re: Editing Posts

That would explain it, although there are different options there. I must say I had a problem editing today working on another computer. It helped to switch to the Standard Editor (as opposed to the WYSIWYG editor).
