Banned Users Thread (questions and initial reactions only, no chatting)

Why we do not have Banned Users Thread? So when our "friend" is banned we can see when he will be back.

On MTF they have it http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=91035

Banned List

We have since reviewed that policy (in light of the thread on GM moderation that is now closed). So far we have not opted to change the policy.

The length of a ban can be checked though, it is just the details that can't be discussed. If you want to know when a specific poster returns, you will get an answer.

Try to help your friend's behavior so they won't be banned. And thankfully this isn't MTF!

I can not help them until they return

And why you say "thankfully this isn't MTF", MTF is definitely running in a better way than TF. At least Administrators on MTF are doing their jobs, unlike here where only James, Meelis and maybe another one do something, and the others are useless for forum and forum posters.

Sorry I didn't realize that you meant that your friend had already been banned. And I'm sorry I definitely do not agree with your statement "MTF is definitely running in a better way than TF". If you would have just posted that question in MTF it would have taken some time before you got any answer at all. And when you did get an answer it would more likely come from a Moderator rather than an Administrator. I would take James over all the Moderators and Administrators there are on MTF any day! James is fair to everyone, he doesn't think he is better than anyone else on the Forum because he is an Administrator, and he does his job well in a kindly manner. I have had far less dealings with Meelis than I have had with James, but Meelis seems to be an excellent Administrator as well.

When I said that James is bad administrator? He does a great job here, but he is not the only administrator, here we have 10 administrators. Why then he has to do everything, one person can not lead the entire forum alone. On MTF in the last two months they changed all administrators (they have 3), previous administrators felt they can not do that job any more and gave a chance to others, that should be the case here too.

According to this forum administrators are volunteers. They are usually posters that were forum moderators or super moderators at some point that have moved into a different role.

Administrators have all the roles of a super moderator but additionally create new forums, deal with complaints about moderators, discuss forum rules and any other issues pertaining to the board.

Five months ago I asked one administrator something related to forum rules, and guess what, he still did not answer me anything. At least to tell me "I do not know", nothing. So why is he dministrator?

@James, do you remember, maybe a year ago, when I put in my avi administrator sign, and you told me that I need to change avi because it brings confusion among TF posters?

I don't remember specifically, but there is that rule, yes. Posters can't be confused about who is a moderator or not.

So, isn't this the same? I look at the list of administrators, choose one administrator, ask him questions related to forum and he don't answer me anything. Isn't that confusing too?

Yes, I see your point. It can be a bit confusing if an admin is currently not active. The list of admins should indicate which ones are active or not (they are bolded when active). And naturally even then someone can give you an answer or forward the problem.

Ok, then I don't know exactly why you did not receive a reply. Maybe you should try reminding him. He could have simply overlooked your PM. You can always ask another admin, if it really does not work.
