Thread owner thread deletion

Is there a configurable option in the forum software to disallow this? And if so, do you think there's any way to get a consensus among the membership on whether it should be allowed or not.

An illustration. In subforum AB, the thread covering B's win at tournament C was deleted by the thread owner as a reaction to B being upset by K in the next tournament, D. It feels wrong to me that an ordinary poster should have the right to delete other people's posts that way, merely because he posted first in the thread. What do you think? It's entirely academic, of course, if there's no means in vBulletin to prevent it.

Re: Thread owner thread deletion

Waits for reply then deletes the thread.

Annoying, isn't it?

There is an option to do this. You can specify it per usergroup.

Thanks, James. I assume usergroup means ordinary members, premium members, admins, etc. In any case, and while I realise that people probably don't visit this forum very often, it's pretty clear that... well, it's just me.

Paul, you might very well think that, I couldn't possibly comment.
