This whole 'reputation' feature is DUMB!

Well i was away from this board for a few years and then come back and it has this reputation feature.

What a stupid development!

Last time i checked this was a public forum. For people to disagree with something you have posted but are too gutless to actually post it in the thread and give you a bad rep with some stupid one sided comment - ridiculous!

If you feel so strongly about your view, post it in the thread and we can discuss/argue about it - how a forum should operate!

If this must remain, at least incorporate a reply feature to the reputation comment cause quite frankly there are a few people on this board i would have liked to respond to but couldn't be bothered finding one of their posts or sending them a private message to do so because once again this is a public forum to express opinions and debate issues with input from various sources!

I like the idea of giving out good reps. Bad reps just cause drama. Granted drama can be fun esp when I'm not involved. Plus I don't bad rep people no matter how stupid their post is (Unless they bad rep me first )

How does it create drama?

You are the only one who knows about it so all it causes me is frustration... but then i get over it really quickly!

You're right, something about the good reps is positive, knowing people agree with certain views can be good but again, people could just reply with messages of support.

So how do we get rid of it?

i guess because some people take bad reps too seriously and they confront the poster in a thread

you can hide your repuation level from other posters, but i don't think you can actually turn off the feature.

I kind of like reps..whether they are green or red. I don't care what color they are as long as the person leaves an interesting comment.

Well i haven't seen too much of that but at least if this takes place in a thread it's there for all to see.

I actually think the Administrators should disable the feature across the whole site.

oh boy u must have been gone for a really long time.

I'd rather keep it. I think the good out weighs the bad.

Well if it must stay, i think we should at least give out Awards for 'posters who bad rep for the most stupid reasons'.

I could dish out some nominees from my rep list!

Reps are fine...but I whole heartedly agree with a reply feature...some people say some stupid shit that I would love to reply to, but can't.

I'd like to imagine that in order to beat me a person would have to play almost perfect tennis. - Venus Williams

I agree, what a stupid feature. What's worse is when you say something back to them "in private" they go and tell the admins and you get warned, how dumb is that??
