Qualifying...

www.wimbledon .org

Qualifying begins on June 13th at the Bank of England Sports Club at Roehampton. The Official Wimbledon Web Site will be following the Qualifying event from the Bank of England Sports Ground at Roehampton, with live point-by-point scores and regular news updates.

Players entering the singles' events have to play three rounds on grass in the week before The Championships with the prize on offer being entry into the main Wimbledon draw, the following week.

Unlike The Championships, there is no single 'winner' of Qualifying. Instead the players who win all three rounds - sixteen in the Gentlemen's Singles and twelve in the Ladies' Singles - will progress, along with four pairs in each of the Ladies' and Men's Doubles events.

Some questions guys:

*Is this the same venue for qualies @ Wimbledon and the Grade 1 Junior tournament next week?

*There is no restricted entry to the place? I heard in the past entry is not open to the general public and I can immagine huge crowds now that Jelena will be there...

*When does the girls actually start qualies...Monday or Tuesday?

*How is the viewing of the corts? From that pic below it doesn't look too good for all the courts

The Order of Play for qualifying will be published here by Sunday 12th June, while the Order of Play for The Championships will be published here by Sunday 19th June.

I found in the site stuff about when draws are being released

Drawsheets for qualifying will be available by Sunday 12th June. The Draw for The Championships will take place on Thursday 16th June and the full drawsheets will be available here shortly afterwards.

I would hope so.

The website still looks like it is in pre-tournament state. They don't even really have draw pages...just a page explaining the draw, which seems odd to me. Hopefully things will be in working order sometime soon.

Thanks so much for all the info you've given so far...keep up the good work.
