WC and pre-qualif

Does anybody know about this ?

I think last year pre-qualfications happened during Roland Garros, so there should be some news now, shouldn't it ?

i can't find anything anywhere...

This can't last. This misery can't last. I must remember that and try to control myself. Nothing lasts really. Neither happiness nor despair. Not even life lasts very long. There'll come a time in the future when I shan't mind about this anymore, when I can look back and say quite peacefully and cheerfully how silly I was. No, no, I don't want that time to come ever. I want to remember every minute, always, always to the end of my days.

Prequalies are this week, after the announcement of the first batch of wildcards.

According to the BBC website the first wildcards have gone to Elena Baltacha, Amanda Janes, Anne Keothavong, Katie O'Brien, Cara Black and Jelena Dokic. However it also says that there are 3 more to allocate, so possibly Jelena's is for the qualies.

Pre-qualifying begins tomorrow

the winner will recieve a main draw wildcard, as will likely teh runner-up seeing as there are 3 spare (the last one may well go to rubin)

Will be interesting to see who gets the wildcard. Would LOVE to see Claire or Becky get one! Wheeee! Or Mel...

Or Karen...

Or Sarah...

Or... *runs away*

YOU HAVEN'T HEARD THE LAST FROM ME!
Because I'm still talking! That's right!

Wasteful, pointless randomness for your amusement.

Some interesting match ups!
O'donoghue vs. Bagshaw could be interesting
As should Peterzan vs. Curtis
I think Hawkins is capable of upsetting Llewellyn!
I think the quarterfinals will look like:

O'donoghue vs. South--------------O'donoghue in 3 sets
Borwell vs. Collin-------------------Borwell in 2 sets
Curtis() vs. Paterson--------------Paterson in 2 sets
Llewellyn vs. Webley Smith----------Llewellyn in 3 sets

O'donoghue vs. Borwell--------------Borwell in 3 sets
Paterson vs. Llewellyn---------------Llewellyn in 3 sets

Llewellyn vs. Borwell-----------------Borwell in 3 sets

That's just my prediction!

Winner and runner-up get maindraw wildcards I believe. The rest can still get qualifying wildcards I think.

I also believe that is the case. Which leaves us to wonder whether the last Main Draw WC will go to Navratilova or not.

The winner definitely gets one, and usually the runner up also gets one, although this isn't definate, so the LTA can mess about with it to suit them

I think they may find a wildcard for Jade Curtis somewhere, either in the maindraw or qualifying draw.
