Ground passes :)

Hey guys

I'm going to Wimby for the first time this year and I'm wondering what time I have to get there to get ground passes before they all sell out? Anyone know?
Thanks

If you're going during the first week, then from past experience you can get away with turning up relatively late on Monday and Tuesday (say 11a.m.) but by the end of the first week you have to be there early to ensure you get in. It can involve a long wait so patience is definitely a virtue, but you'll get in eventually. Also it depends on the weather - if it pours with rain then obviously fewer people turn up but then you might not see much tennis once inside! Maybe it varies also according to whether Tim and/or Greg are due to be playing.

I normally arrive at 6am (as early as the tube allows) and at this time you will get a ground pass and be in the ground for the start of play. In fact you're almost guaranteed to be in early enough so the cattle pen hasn't been opened, therefore you can be involved in the good old scramble for the best seats, with the stewards' cries of "Don't run please!" which obviously go totally ignored lol. Best part about getting there early like 6am is that you'll almost certainly get the chance of Court 2 tickets, for the first 3 days anyway, probably the first 4 in my opinion. I've got Court 1 on more than one occasion and had the opportunity for but never taken Centre Court. I'm a strong 6am advocate but one of these years I'm gonna bite the bullet and camp out!

Some people are saying 6, others 8:30.
I don't think I want court 2 tickets or anything, I just wanna see the outside courts, so I think I'll get there about 8. Thanks everyone

I've been in the queue 25 or 30 times in the last five years.
During the first week and on the second monday you should join no later than
8AM. The rest of week #2 you can show up at 10AM and still get in before
play begins.
A wimbledon grounds pass during the first week is the best deal
in spectator sports tickets!
