We are in the second week of grass tennis on the PYW Tour. The other event this week has already finished, but Eastbourne is still in the semi final stage.
Another title for Kim?
There is really only one clear favourite left: Kim Clijsters. Anne Keothavong, Anastasia Myskina and Ai Sugiyama are the other contenders, but many doubt that they will be able to trouble the Belgian on her way to yet another title. Clijsters is making up for missing many earlier tournaments and is soaring up the rankings. In her semi final, she will have to beat her former doubles partner, Ai Sugiyama. Sugiyama crushed Svetlana Kuznetsova in the quarter finals and seems to be in great form.
The biggest surprise among the four semi finalists is British qualifier Anne Keothavong. Brits are popular in PYW, but a semi final in such a strong event was not anticipated. Keothavong plays Anastasia Myskina, who is inconsistent and switches from good to bad results. Let's see how they fare here.
Anne Keothavong GBR [Q] v. Anastasia Myskina RUS Kim Clijsters BEL v. Ai Sugiyama JPN
