PAW (Pick-A-Winner) Fed Cup Quarter Finals & Semi Finals

defending country: BULGARIA

PICK-A-WINNER – FEDERATION CUP 2005

QUARTER FINALS & SEMI FINALS

Welcome to Pick-A-Winner (PAW), the Predictions game!

Playing is simple:

The Quarter Finals will be based on Saturday’s matches (10th July).

The Semi Finals will be based on Sunday’s matches (11th July).

You may choose 7 picks plus unlimited SUPPs for Saturday’s matches.

If your country qualifies for the Semi-Finals, you may pick 10 matches plus unlimited SUPPs for Sunday’s matches.

The ties used for picking will be the World Group 1 Semi Finals & Play-Offs (a total of 6 ties). Unfortunately we cannot use the World Group 2 Offs as the ITF Website only states there will be live scores available for the World Group 1 Semi-Finals and Play-Offs.

Calculation of Scores:

2 player-team: Average points of ALL player's points
3-4 player-team: Average points of ALL player's points, minus one of the player's worst result
5 player team: Average points of ALL player’s points, minus two of the player’s worst result

Red Sky July's stunning new album 'Shadowbirds' to be released in UK on 14th Sept 2014. Order at Amazon or iTunes

The band features ex members of Alisha's Attic & Texas and American singer Charity Hair (The Alice Band)

once again well done andrew for a beautiful arrangment of the fed-cup tourny thread.
I'm sure all will run smoothly, allowing the ties to fullfill the drama anticipated.
i don't think this format is wise, actually - i think it's a big let down after the great beggining earlier on this year - but even so, best of luck to evryone, especiialy fellow PAWers from Israel - all the way to the trophy now!

if you have nothing important to say, please do so in non-tennis forum. if you have something you think is important, but is actually rubbish regarding anything other than tennis - please do so in the non-tennis forum. if you have something tennis related to say, but it's actually "OMG, X player is so h0t!1" or "who has the biggest boobs on the wtatour" please do so in menstennisforum, under "wta forum". if you have something important, tennis-related and interesting to say please do so. No one in the world can understand how much tennis means to someone, except another fan.

The format isn't great - but last year we did not know at the beginning that this year the ITF Fed Cup would have 2 World Groups - therefore this year we are ensuring that next year we have World Group 1 and 2, plus Zone 1

I personally think Federation Cup should just stick to the original format of on World Group with 16 countries - because of it's new format - it will be the same countries every year in the main World Groups and this is terrible for tennis fans

We wanted the PAW Fed Cup to stick to the original format of 16 World Group Countries this year - but having to split the Quarter Finals and Semi Finals into 1 weekend causes too much hassle

Andrew... according to my calculation there are 12 matches to choose from on day 1... I think 8 picks are too many... I suggest to reduce it by a pick or two...

Year-end Ranking: 2006 - 46, 2005 - 8, 2004 - 63, 2003 - 146

All 6 matches are held in Europe... that should suit our players and I suppose that also easy for the manager...

andrew, when the list of players will come out??

I have the nominations list of players, and I am currently completing the scoring points. Hopefully they will release the schedule soon.

Today has been a difficult day in London, I'd like to thank you all for your patience and understanding
