Wednesday observation

First of all: play started at 11:00 but all courts were occupied with men's matches which were long and went on slowly so I had to wait until for example Sluiter and Lappentti would finish their (and my ) hurt....

So I walked from court to court and watch a little bit of everything. Anne Kremer was practising (all smile as usual ) and man, she was great; her coach did the best to return ball, but some her winners were . Her training was disturbed only with Dinara Safina screaming (which was often) because Dinara was really displeased by some strokes. Finally Sluiter commited a suicide thanks to his UE's and the real play started.
Diaz Oliva and Pratt went on court and the game finished after only 1:04 minutes. Pratt seemed to have a reservation for plane or something because she quickly left the match to Diaz. I can't say that Pratty didn't fight but it was poor performance with tons of UE's and average performance was enough for Diaz to sail into next round.
Kostanic - Ondraskova match was tight, leveled and nice to watch. The conditions were heavy so clay was wet and especially "thanks" to this factor, Jelena lost most of her points because fighting Zuzana was able to catch nearly every single point and return it greatly back. Zuzi's great fighter, she has wonderful movement and when opponent isn't able to make winner, she can be very dangerous because she didn't make silly mistakes. Jelena had setpoint at 5:4* but missed it and it changed the progress of match. Next games Zuzi won (she was always dangerous during Jelena serve, actually she missed many BP's until then) and took the first.
I went for Cho - Craybas match and I shouldn't have done it .
After several games I got unbelievable tired of it . I saw terrible , mistake after mistake, I can't even now believe that it was Cho who played like that. I wouldn't be surprised at all if somebody tells me that it was just a shadow of Cho. Three DF and one UE during her serve (and 4 UE's from Craybas in the same game ) would kill even more cynical person .
When I suddenly caught myself thinking about the possibility that I would pay them to stop that horror and lock them in hotel rooms, just to prevent them from being somewhere near courts , I figured out it was time to go home.

Nothing special today. I watched Sluiter-Lapenti and then a little bit of Diaz-Oliva vs. Pratt, but I left, because it wasn't really interesting. Eleni Daniilidou was in the stands during that match.

Iveta and Dinara were practicing together before their doubles match, which was one of the reasons I went there today. They seemed to really enjoy their match against Krajicek/Nagyova, they were all smiles and they played quite well. They were leading 5-2 in the second set and had several matchpoints, but eventually won 7-5.

I also saw Misa Krajicek at Sluiter-Lapentti match. She was there with Peter Wessels and her parents (well I think it were her parents )

Meilen Tu was practicing with Cho (i think) and Barbora Strycova hitting with her coach (Barbora was in the hospital last night because of some stomach problems, but recovered to win her doubles match with Kostanic).

And Czech president was also there, like yesterday

that's all I guess, after Iveta/Dinara won, I left.

I would like to go tomorrow, but I can't Hopefully I will get there on friday or saturday, but I'm not sure!

Thank you for great moments and inspiration!
