Clijsters is schooling Maria with a variety of shots.

It seems to be paying off quite well.

She's up 5-3 in the 1st set. It's a bit early to say she is schooling her.

If she is schooling Maria with anything, it's her speed, not her variety of shots. Kim is using the wind to her full advantage. She's hitting safe shots and angles which is a full testament to how wonderful of a player she is, and she is retrieving everything. The wind though is horrendous. It is not allowing Sharapova to hit those flat shots that she needs to hit in order to win. If the winds keeps up, this match is Clijsters'.

no i am not talking about a racket or a squirrel, i am talking about the former and future number 1..............
martina hingis!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Luck Justine Henin Hardenne, Venus Williams, Maria Sharapova, Mary Pierce, and any of my other favorites that I might have forgotten about at this moment.

Even if the sun comes out bright and shining, Kim will still win this match...

Excuses

Top players should be ready and able to play in all kinds of conditions. Stop the excuses please.

Both players are facing the same elements and conditions.

per4ever, jenglisbe,

Here is your answer: the 1st set is in Kim's bag. Live with it, although it's not the end by any means.

I just think Maria is surprised at certain balls coming back. In her mind she's finished the point already and then she makes a really stupid mistake.

I don't think Kim is hitting safe shots, she's mixing it up well, often taking Maria by surprise. But I wouldn't say Kim is school Maria. I'd say it's a pretty close match.

Go Kim!

Everything you do continues long after you've gone
