Pre-Qualifying

Like in the past, the Miami tournament has a pre-qualifying event in which the winner receives placement in the qualifying draw. Recent winners include Varvara Lepchenko, and Marie-Eve Pelletier.

Unfortunately these results are not too easy to come by, but thanks to the staff at the Nasdaq-100 website, I was able to inquire and receive the result of the final which concluded March 15th.

Final: Ahsha Rolle def. Bethanie Mattek 6-1, 7-6

Congratulations to Ahsha for winning the pre-qualifying tournament and earning a spot in the qualifying draw.

Any if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!

But he loves you."

Thanks for the result

Asha!! She may be in line for some kind of wild card at the US Open, either main draw or wild card. She's done this all on her own, with next to no help from the USTA. With her first 10K win at the beginning of the year, and now knocking off USTA darlings like Mattek, they may have to sit up and take notice.

Thanks for the correction, the person from the Nasdaq site gave that score, and also said that Troy won the mens over Philip Simmonds - Perhaps he/she misread the score Glad the winner was right anyway

Yes the names are correct!
Rolle score was something like 36 64 60 and Troy's was a very hard match, it was very nice to watch.... it was 76 67 76 he played great the hole tournament!
I hope both of them can win in the qualy...

thanks a lot Jess, do you know of any other players who competed there?

Asha Rolle in a tier 1

Good for her -- when I saw her a few years ago, she was an overweight Venus Williams with a severe attitude - but I still loved her.

GO ASHA!
