good luck to the whole lot!
i'm hoping they play doubles as well!
i'll be posting my match analysis again, it seemed that you guys liked them and it was fun
isn't great to have THREE players to cheer?

if you have nothing important to say, please do so in non-tennis forum. if you have something you think is important, but is actually rubbish regarding anything other than tennis - please do so in the non-tennis forum. if you have something tennis related to say, but it's actually "OMG, X player is so h0t!1" or "who has the biggest boobs on the wtatour" please do so in menstennisforum, under "wta forum". if you have something important, tennis-related and interesting to say please do so. No one in the world can understand how much tennis means to someone, except another fan.

not the easiest of draws for them both.

serna magui VS. Tzipora Obziler (23) ISR

Antonella Serra Zanetti (9) ITA VS. Shahar Peer ISR

analysis tommorow!

LET THE QUALIES BEGIN!

so it's back to action for shahar peer and tzipi, as well as smashnova that awaits them in the main draw. but for the two israelis, one veteran and one youngster - it might be alot to ask for...might.

tzipi is the last seed - 24th, and so, it's abit ironic she revieved the player that could have been 25th had there been more seedings - serna magui of spain. as so many other latinos, magui ,masters the clay courts, but she is not to be crossed out from any match. she's a consistent player, and only slumped due to a injury in her left shoulder. two single titles to her name, three finals and heaps of QFs - this may be a very difficult match.
once a proud top 20 player (19 in her best), it was around this time last year when she was at her peak. since the start of the season, she had difficulties getting back to her winning ways, and stands only 2-3 this year, but with a win over 36th ranked (and wonderfully playing, may i add) marion bartoli, although it was a retirement.
apart from those wins, she hasn't done too well.
she is such a great player, and i would love to see her going back to her winning ways - but her opponent is well deserving too...
for tzipi - the year has begun quite well. 4-4 in the win loss ratio - but it's the quality that matters in her case - for the wins came over 3 higher ranked players, including 47th ranked loit.
the losses came from some of the very best this year - myskina, peng and indian sensation mirza in three sets. in that case - she reached her career third QF, and second in hyderabad.
serna wants to qualify so bad. she's gunna give all the fight she can, especially since she's rested and must be fitter than at the biggening of the year. tzipi will have to play her very best - this could have been a battle of two top 50 players if fate were a bit different - but it isn't.
tzipi has take it in two sets, or else she'll lose, IMO.
and straight sets it will be - 6-3 6-4

shahar peer recieved one of the hardest draws she could possibly get - three former top 100 players in her section. the year has started beautifully for the biggest hope from our country ever. two QF appearences, seven wins over higher- ranked players including the gigantic win over polish marta domochowska (66th ranked), improving her career best win achieved earlier this season against 67th ranked akiko morigami of japan.
Serra-Zanetti, antonella to be exact, the younger sis along adrianna, has had quite a good run this week at IW and the 50K orange ITF tourny as well, but the year began very bad for the italian, winning only one match out of six, and that too against an unranked player. at acupulco things looked to change, as she reached her second career semi-final (after casablanca finals, where she lost fellow italian rita grande in 2003) losing only to eventual winner (and the player of those past two weeks) panneta.
the switch back to hardcourts didn't do any harm - and the wins seemed to boost her confidence winning two qualifying matches and upsetting rising star barbora strycova. she lost the second round match to russian giant petrova. she then traveled to california and beat qualifier nooni and great britans elena baltacha. her run came to a stop, losing in three sets to randrianteffy - but it was a good month for zanetti and she will be looking to continue it on shahar's acount.
it won't be an easy match for sure, and the prize sure isn't worth it - czink and talaja -two players you could see in the MD of most tournies without too much trouble some time ago.
hopefully, shahar can set another upset or two. positive approach, winning points fast, good serving and lotsa topspin usually does the work against the majority of italians. shahar's backhand will come very handy here, as she will have to use her weapons if she wants to advance.
and she will in my opinion, 6-4 2-6 6-4

best of luck to both girls, hope you enjoyed my analysis!
