Good news for Jelena - Hantuchova (TOP20 candidate) lose in SF.
So... In August ONLY Ana have chance overtake Jeca and nobody else!!!

and I'm not even fan of Ana Ivanovic... just an objective observer who realize how perfect she is

AMAZING BELGRADE MIRACLE: In just three years (2008-2011) 5 different players born in same city reach world #1 in rankings and several GS titles and finals (WTA singles: Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, ATP singles: Novak Djokovic, ATP doubles: Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor... with notable performances of Bojana Jovanovski, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki which is also all three born in Belgrade)

Jelena lose today, but if Ana win against Bartoli in 2nd round Jeca will be still "Serbian #1" next week (about 10 pts more than Ana)... So if Ana want be "official" Serbian #1 already next week - she must win against this year best world hard-court player (Kim).

On other hand, next week Ana dont play at New Heven, but Jelena must defend 62pts, so she needs not less than QF, if she want be S'#1 in first USO week.

I have very good news for both Serbian tennis princess - in spite of Jeca bad play and Ana bad draw this week, they both will have career best rank next week. Jelena will be world #17 and Ana #18. Right now Davenport, Sharapova, Venus, Molik and Bovina have injury problems and if only one (two for Ana) of this players withdraw of USO, Jeca will be TOP16 seeds at US Open (NO TOP 15 players aganst her before 4R)!!!

Ana would win in straight sets ..Why because her serve is better and Ground strokes are better ... Jelena has more speed tho ...

Maria Sharapova Owns Serena Williams

If Jelena want save her #1 serbian status next week, she must go not less than QF in New Haven (but if Petrova is injury, her chances is not bad)

Yes, Ana is already better player than Jelena (IMO of Jan-Feb 2005), but Jeca iz real TOP20 wta player and dont underrate her after one bad month. What do you mean "no more than 5 games" against Ana!?
She dont deserve this...

I like Jelena a lot, but if both of them were playing close to the best I think Ana won't have to many problems... Besides that I really wonder about Jelena's tactic ( I mean playing almost every week... )

Ana Ivanović.

It would be a very interesting match, for sure, and I don't think it would be so one-sided as suggested. If they're both on top of their games it would be rather close - as Jelena would surely be looking to expose Ana's lack of mobility, while Ana would try to overpower Jelena. In the end it would come down to Ana's better serving and I think she'd win the match, but not without a struggle.

I think that Ana's mental stability would prevail

STUPID, CLASSLESS, CHEATING, ATTENTION SEEKING, LOOKS LIKE A 45 YEAR OLD, EMBARRASSMENT TO THE NO.1 RANKING, NOT TO LEAVE HER GROSS MOM OUT, GREEN GREMLIN

Look, JJ is still the Serbian Number One. If her new coach sorts out her serve (Henin went through a similar phase not long ago) she'll give Ana a good run for her money, to coin an English phrase. Who will be the historic first slam winner for Serbia ? My money's still on JJ. Sorry but yihaaaaa-burger-munching-Seles doesn't count however much we'd like her to.
