Re: Fight for Serbian #1
BUMP alert for this "historic" thread at very end of this 2015 season which Ivanovic spent for most of the year far ahead Jankovic, but now after very successful episodes on couple of Chinese tournaments Jankovic has chance in Luxembourg to bring very close to Ana, and than to back again in China, Zhuhai, (unofficially Ivanovic which also qualified will not play there at all) with chance to overtake Ivanovic in best possible moment (at end of the season which will guaranty Jelena 10+ new weeks at SRB#1 position).
Interesting that Ivanovic longest reign at SRB#1 is from 2012-2013 and last 66 weeks, but if Jelena broke Ana's current strike after Zhuhai (Nov 9) it will be shorter for a just two weeks (64 weeks in the row). If Jelena fall to overtake Ana at end of this season current Ana strike will be longer than 70 weeks, but on other hand Jankovic will have great opportunity to overtake Ana already before AO/2016 because Ivanovic defending there Brisbane final and JJ don't defending anything.
Projection for Year Ending Ranking (Current ranking with cut-off of 2014 YEC points):
Ana Ivanovic 2645
Jelena Jankovic 2345/2395/2465/2565 (depending on hers Luxembourg result) + Zhuhai points (minimum 120 for all RR loses, 200/240 for SF, 400/440 for F, 660/700 for W).
and I'm not even fan of Ana Ivanovic... just an objective observer who realize how perfect she is
AMAZING BELGRADE MIRACLE: In just three years (2008-2011) 5 different players born in same city reach world #1 in rankings and several GS titles and finals (WTA singles: Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, ATP singles: Novak Djokovic, ATP doubles: Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor... with notable performances of Bojana Jovanovski, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki which is also all three born in Belgrade)
