Although the Toray Pan Pacific only started in its current incarnation in 1984, Toray has sponsored a women's event in Japan since 1975 and here's a full list of the final results since that first event:

I can't believe it's been 10 bloody years since Kimiko bitchslapped Davenport in the final! In that match, Lindsay couldn't touch Kimiko.. completely out played.

Although this tournament has been lacking enough top players lately, when you look at the faces of the past champs, I don't think there's any other tier I that can equal this. If only it had NOT been for Pam as champ...

Exactly! She was only 18. And she's done some bitch-slapping of her own over there in Tokyo, hence the 4 titles. She also bitch-slapped Kimiko Date 6-2, 6-1 the last time they played, which was at the 1996 Fed Cup
