Aussie Team Cheering Thread

Hopefully, 2 of Australia's most experienced campaigners, Mark Philippoussis and Alicia Molik, will thrive on the Rebound Ace courts in front of capacity crowds, and give the title a real shake!

It has been 7 years since an Aussie Team won the Hopman Cup. Let's hope the 2007 Australian Open Series is all about the Aussies!

Yes (amazingly!) he won the Newport ATP Event after Wimbledon, and won a 50k Challenger in the States a fortnight ago. His ranking has jumped from outside the top 200 to about 110

Re: Aussie Team Cheering Thread

Really I didn't realise Mark had a ranking not far out of the top 100. Good to see he is doing better. I wouldn't mind seeing the Aussies do well, considering their recent performances at Hopman Cup. A good run in Perth might mean that Alicia can get some form going for the 2007, that would be awesome.

Re: Aussie Team Cheering Thread

I hope we do but i have to think we will struggle. The most important thing is to get both of these players into form. If Mark and Alicia can show some sort of hope to get close then they have done very well.

GO THE AUSSIES!

I agree aussie_fan, seeing both Alicia and Mark playing well and getting some form would make me happy

Too bad? I think Alicia will thrive playing against these two girls, with the aussie supporters who all love Alicia behind her, I think she is definitely capable of an upset or two depending on her form. I'd much rather watch Alicia play against great competitors when she has the oppurtunity to in a tournament like Hopman Cup where there is a good team spirit attitude. It's a great oppurtunity for her and I hope she can take it to Nadia and Venus.

Also Nadia is the first game, comming of the summer break, best time to play her. I expect her to beat Venus

Well she's done it before, and that was a great match to watch in Melbourne. I hope this match is just as good.
