Kuznetsova on Li Na

"I was feeling like I was playing (against a player from the) top five in the world," Kuznetsova told reporters after the match.

"I am so happy that I won because it was one of the toughest matches I've played all year. She just played unbelievable."

--

A lot of the time when a top player has a tight match against a lower ranked player they blame it on their own errors or something like that, but Kuznetsova gave all of the credit and more to Li Na.

This not only shows the class of Kuznetsova but also the true talent of Li Na I think.

Good luck tomorrow.

That is the convention in China. The surname goes first. They are just being accurate. The convention in America/Europe/Most other places is to put the surname last, so it would be ridiculous to say Pierce Mary.

Come on Li Na!!

It's Chinese culture to say surname first. That's how she calls herself, how she knows herself so I think it would be disrespectful to say her name in a way that is reversed from how she would say it.

Her name is Li Na.

Westernized is Na Li.

In the same manner, Chinese people don't say Pierce Mary, they say Mary Pierce respecting the way she is named in her culture. You should do the same.

Well considering you know how to properly say her name, and choose not too I guess its disrespectful.

Calling her Na Li, is like saying Pierce Mary

Clearly Ranadalara didn't know until you pointed it out. Don't be so full of yourself.
