I think she should skip this event - make sure this injury is healed before she hits the court again.

RIP Elena Baltacha, thank you for dedicating your life to a sport we all love. You'll be missed but never forgotten.

*Offers Amélie a glass*

This from sports.fr:

Mauresmo probably will withdraw from Moscow

Amélie Mauresmo certainly will withdraw from the tournament of Moscow which began today. Number one world, which had to give up Sunday finally in Filderstadt whereas American Lindsay Davenport carried out 6-2, passed an examination this morning assure her a small tear to the adductor. So the Frenchwoman would lose her first place with the world classification with the profit precisely of Davenport.

Mauresmo withdraws from Kremlin Cup

Amelie Mauresmo hasn't recovered in time to play Moscow this week. Mauresmo withdraws from Kremlin Cup
By: WTN
Date: October 11, 2004, 4:34pm

Frenchwoman Amelie Mauresmo has withdrawn from the Kremlin Cup because of a leg injury and could lose her world number one ranking to Lindsay Davenport this week.
"Amelie slightly pulled a left thigh muscle. She will have to rest for three days so she is not going to Moscow," her coach Loic Courteau told Reuters Monday.

"We shall decide at the end of the week if she enters the Zurich grand prix next week."

Mauresmo, who has headed the WTA rankings since the U.S. Open, sustained the injury Sunday while playing Davenport in the final of the Filderstadt grand prix. She retired after losing the first set 6-2.

The American is now 15 points adrift of the French world number one and will supersede her if she reaches the quarterfinals in Moscow.

Itana GOOOOO AMELIE!!!!!!
