We can write in here all the stuff that is not Sveta related so that we have something to talk about and chat while Sveta is not playing as now (by the way I miss the excitement of her matchs even if it's usually nerve and suffering) and this way we keep the forum active.I've seen in forums of other players I visit they have that kind of thread. What do you think?
So I want to start this thread,as I didn't know exactly where to fit this message, wishing Mel (meltjuuuh) ,one of the nicest Sveta fans around a
VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! :bdaycake: Enjoy your day mel have loads of fun and presents
the first match I remember watching of Sveta was 2005 Aus Open against Sharapova.I think during 2005 I was interested in her but wasn't really a fan,my interest became stronger when she became Amélie's doubles partner that year Then I remember by the time she won Miami in 2006 I was already a fan,I was delighted with her victory and game there That was the first big victory of Sveta that I lived as a fan, because when she won US Open in 2004 I was on travel so I didn't watch nor follow that tournament at all.
the first match i watched her play was at the 05 AO as well.I remember the commentators mentioning that she was in the middle of that doping scandal but I didnt really follow tennis at all at the time .During 2005 I became a fan of tennis but mostly watched ATP matches. It was probably during 06 Hopman cup where I became a fan of Sveta because of her game and off court personality and from then on I've always been a fan
yeah that doping scandal must have been hard for sveta i only followed it vaguely as I was not a fan at the time as I said, but even in some russian interview of her from 2008 she was asked about that, which is kind of sad
and talking about her personality I remember I was completely charmed with her when I saw her karaoke of "I will survive" i think this was 2006 French Open, the year she got to the final then I heard her speak spanish (with Arantxa) after winning the SF and was with her accent and laugh and joy

Now I am cheer for
1. Dinara - my second favorite this year,
2. Elena - she has something same with Sveta, and she has a pretty good season this year, but Elena is 4 years older then Sveta. If Dementieva would win this Slam I would have much more confidence in Sveta's better future.
3. Serena - is it normal, if she wins a Slam, but does not something special.
Just can't root for Jelena - I don't know why...
I just read Alicia Molik retires.I'm very sad to read this news
One of my favourite players and one of Sveta's best friends on tour.Together they won Aus Open in 2005
maybe but still and he said that sveta would never win another one (it was the predict the no of slams each player will win thread) and he posted 0 for sveta
well,I don't think this person is right.I think Sveta will win more slams but still who cares what he thinks?
yes, other players might have more votes but Sveta has more slams than most of them (except for sharapova).I prefer her to win slams than popularity contests
