Vero-I read an autobiography of Martina's which she wrote in the 1980's; is there a more recent one around? I've always admired her; both for defecting, for becoming strong and muscular when it wasn't the "feminine" ideal, and for coming out and jeapardizing her endorsements and friendships. In a way, she was the prototype for a player like Svetlana, who is also very powerfully built
and not traditionally pretty by Hollywood's ridiculous standards (does that make any sense?)
As for what we're going to do until January
, I suppose I'll actually have to clean the house, do a proper grocery shop, and hit the gym as if I could actually build arms like Sveta's
. I suppose the holidays are coming, too. I wouldn't blame Sveta if she sat on a beach for a month straight without one word about tennis, but we get used to her being around like one of the family! Maybe Mel will share her poetry here
Anything with Vera would be fine-I've grown to like her quite a bit.
