Grass is for cows - and for Sveta!

I'm sure we're all wishing Sveta all the best for the grasscourt season. Starting with Eastbourne - I wonder how soon she'll be there, honing her skills on the grass in practice ready for the tournament. Hopefully she's recovered from her exertions at Roland Garros and will be ready to throw her all into the tournament next week, followed by Wimbledon! GOOD LUCK, SVETA!!

Re: Grass is for cows - and for Sveta!

I'm planning on going to Eastbourne, of course, hoping to see Sveta and cheer her on to win the title. The only thing I can't guarantee is the weather - showers are forecast over the next few days and it looks like the kind of weather situation which might be slow to improve. I hope to get chance to speak to Sveta if possible and pass on good wishes from all of you on this forum. I'll probably travel there on Wednesday or Thursday and stay there till Saturday. Must think of some more songs before then...

Have fun, Tim! I was there last year and had a blast (but I was there
for the perfect weather...well, it did get windy, but that's to be
expected.)

Say hello to Sveta for all of us.

Mary

Re: Grass is for cows - and for Sveta!

Sveta has an abdominal problem. She's not playing Eastbourne and is out of Fed Cup.
She'll probably try to play Wimbledon.

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter....
Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there
Enjoy This Moment!!
HEALTH and HAPPINESS to EVERYONE

Is that now definite that she wont play eastbourne? I'm going this year too and I was so looking forward to seeing Kim and Sveta! Maybe I jinxed them

Always supporting Kim and Svetlana

Good luck Amelie and Justine

Scots Kim Fan,I think it's definite since her name is not in the draw.Sveta knows better what's best for her.She has taken the wiser decision if you ask me,but of course I can understand your disappointment about it

Thank you

Yes I agree, if she's not 100% fit she shouldn't play and risk wimbledon. I'll still miss her though
I'll support amelie instead

Always supporting Kim and Svetlana

Good luck Amelie and Justine

Re: Grass is for cows - and for Sveta!

I'd been dreading for days that she might pull out for some reason. I was almost paranoid, scouring all sources of information daily just to check that she was still going to play.

Anyway, let's hope it's nothing too serious, and that she'll be fit again really soon. Such a pity for her.

It's a pity! I hope she will be able to play Wimbledon, but I hope nevertheless that she just will do it when she's totally fit...

Svetlana is seeded 5 for Wimbledon, in line with her current world ranking.

Of course, all of us are dearly hoping that she will be fit enough to play. The draw is due out on Friday morning.
