Exclamation

She is going to have the wrist evaluated on Monday and the decision will be made then as to whether she will be able to play. She said that she wants to play and that is a good sign. Plus, I don't think the injury was that bad; I think she withdrew as a precatioin knowing she has to play this week.

I agree with lizchris. one good thing I noticed from watching Venus' match live last night on Eurosport was that Venus didn't seem to look in all that pain, she just looked extremely frustrated so hopefully the wrist is only a minor injury. go Vee

Thank you for being the only person who sees it my way (so far).

I'll add that she didn't say that her wrist was hurting her to the point that she couldn't lift her racquet.

Venus was clearly in pain. If she had retired a bit earlier (like at 5-4) then maybe, but its probably swollen.

Also, what is the point of playing when she has to worry about her wrist? Especially if she plans on winning the title.

Its just not worth it
