Look Ahead Wednesdays Matches

Here is a look ahead at Wednesdays matches

Clijsters vs Marreo

Clijsters should in theory beat Marreo - however she is playing with a brace and Marreo is in good form at the moment (SF Estoril; QF Casablanca; 3 set tough match loss against Patty Schynder) and a tough player on the clay. Clijsters should scrape through but have a bit of difficulty along the way.

Shaughnessy vs Sprem

Shaughnessy won their last match at USOpen 03 on the harcourts - yet Sprem is excellent and experienced on the clay - she wants and needs to defend her massive amount of points from last years clay season - so she will fight all the way to victory. Go Sprem!

Zuluaga vs Zvonareva

Zvonareva to win here - Zuluaga to give a good fight but Vera is a queen of the clay.

Likhovtseva vs Sugiyama
Ai's form has been a bit off recently and she retired during the FedCup match - so this match is totally open on how Ai performs

Williams vs Dannillidou
The Greek vs The American - Williams is on fire and will give Eleni an early bath.

Dechy vs Smashnova-Pistolesi
Star names for this Tier I event - I will go for Smashnova beating the French girl purely because she has a clay court game however Dechy has come in from quite good form (SF at Miami) so time will tell.

Schett vs Suarez
Babs won their last match but its on clay - Suarez is good on clay but I think this will go to three sets and could go either way.

Sharapova vs Mandula
Sharapova will win this match and will set up a mouth-watering matchup with Jenny C - which will probably be the highlight of the week

Schnyder vs Gagliardi
The two Swiss girls fight it out but it will be Patty who is victorious and will move into the next round

Kostanic vs Myskina
Kostanic is on form at the moment - Myskina is weaker on clay - this could be an upset of the tournament.

Dementieva vs Cohen-Aloro
Dementieva can come and go but she should have no problems with this French qualifier.

Bovina vs Kuznetsova
Two russians play each other - Kuznetsova is on fire and will beat Bovina.

Sanchez-Lorenzo vs Chladakova
Sanchez-Lorenzo will beat the Czech player - and will move into the third round

Mauresmo vs Dulko
Defo Mauresmo for this tie.
