Re: Vladimira Uhlirova
I was there at the match yesterday. Actually I had to go back to France early, but really did not want to leave before Vladka played! And that's good, she won!
So it began quite slowly, Yari serving well, Vladka not so well. At the net, Likhovtseva proved she still had a thing, but honestly, that's no longer the great hands she used to be... sad. Perebyinis was the strongest link of their team.
In the tie breaker, Vladka and Yari played wisely and could concluded easily, that was well deserved!
Second set, lots of breaks, and then Vladka fell. We all thought she got injured, but she stood up fast and did not seem to be hurt at all (maybe a few bruises, but nothing serious!). Then at the end, they could break on time, and Vladka could conclude on her serve game (after 40-15 I think).
At the end of the match, I went to talk to her. She told me immediatly "thanks, and I play on thursday!" but unfortunately, I told her I could not be there, but would be back for the semis. She told me "see you then so" and left and the little cars that take them from court 2 to the sportpaleis.
I met jelena_jankovic from this forum! Nice to have met you by the way. And let's hope Vladka can qualify for semis again...
