Klara plays Vania King in second round of IW
we are all thinking the same, guys, BUT things are very different now
Klara knows what to expect - she is not the high favourite this time

I think she can win it

Klara pics from IW, someone took them and posted a link to his site in GM:

This is the second time I've photographed Klara. The first time was at a match at the U.S. Open last fall. Whether in match play or practice sessions, Klara is all business. Don't think I've ever seen her smile. Makes you wonder if she enjoys tennis. Nevertheless, Klara is doing quite well for herself, ranked #27 and seeded #16 in this event. She received a bye in the first round and was upset in the second round by non-other than Vania King #108, the same player who beat her in the match I shot at the U.S. Open. Klara reminds me of Gabriela Sabatini in that both players had a lot of talent, were very attractive, but hated being in the spotlight.
These are only thumbnails, go to the site for bigger pics

Kookie is up against Garbin on Saturday. Hopefully she will finally get a win, before the unevitable happens in the third round

Kookie def. Garbin 2-6 7-5 6-1

Well fought, typical Klara match. Losing the 1st one, getting close to defeat in the second one and then breezing through in the third.
She was serving to stay in the match 4-5 down in the 2nd and then went on to win 9 of next 10 games.

Next up Craybas, who shocked Clijsters in 3. Definitely more beatable than Kim would've been, but it's still Kookie

Jill Craybas (USA) d. (27)Klara Koukalova (CZE) 61 62

she led *2-0 in second set and had three GP to make it 3-0*
why cant she win two matches in a row

That was another typical Klara match, the krumbling type

It's really frustrating.

I was on the train yesterday returning to uni and I followed the live scores on my mobile phone from the Sony Ericsson WAP site, but they didn't have Kookie's score. I was following Sofia and was really nervous and when I arrived I checked the scores on teletext on TV and so that Kookie got trashed and my heart sank
It was an awful feeling. But one we are getting more and more used to these days
Hopefully she will do better in Amelia Island and Charleston, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

And Basti if you ever say anything about her draw being open or something similar again...I swear I'm gonna....

Oh and I applied to write a blog about Klara, so we should be getting a forum soon
