Re: Cristina Dinu

Cristina suffered a neck injury in today's match, during the second set. At least, the trainer was called out to give her treatment for a neck injury. If she eventually retires from the PSL tournament, you'll know why.

As for today, I saw part of the second set--from the start until 5-all. Cristina started out OK, but after being broken early to even the set, she seemed to lose momentum and confidence in herself and her game, gesturing a lot, expressing quite a bit in Romanian (I am guessing), and giving frustrated looks to her coach. There were some very very long games in the middle of the set as the players traded breaks, and eventually Cristina fell behind 3-5 losing the 8th game which must lasted close to fifteen minutes. Thorpe had 3 MPs in the next game but lost it, and Cristina then evened it up at 5-all. Had to get on the road for home at that point, but obviously she fought well to come back from where she was, especially after the medical T/O.
