What? This is a Tier IV event with this weakest field like Tashkent in the past except last year. Oh well, someone else have a chance to win a first title!

Inspiration is for amateurs

I know defending the title is not too easy. But I hope she does it.

It's not *that* weak -- even Mary Pierce played the tourney last year!

You better check last year and see what was their ranks compare to this year It's clearly weaker field than last year and remember, Mary Pierce was outside the Top 50 at the time last year.

Considering that the local state government is into the immediately upcoming elections and that hardly any apperance money was available, it is a pretty good field. There were something like 15 or 16 top-100 players last year. Something like 12 this time after 3 withdrawlas this time. Remember that this is a $140K event. I am not too down on the field for a second year event.

I think a title sponsor has just come in (there may be an announcement today?) .. We may be looking at this tournament getting better in the future. ..
