Re: Tereza Mrdeza cheering thread

Beat Sadikovic 63 64

Next opponent will be tougher: Kudryavtseva or Puchkova, who are tied at a set apiece.

Re: Tereza Mrdeza cheering thread

Wow, nice job Tereza The next one against Kudryavtseva will probably be tougher, but you never know. The Russian hasn't been brilliant lately (lost 3 & 4 to Ozgen at the USO R1, for example), but she can have a good run here and there. Like at the USO Series where she qualified for Stanford losing R1 to Paszek on a retirement and then a QF at Vancouver 100k the very next week. Not to mention she can play solid tennis on a number of surfaces (this year made R3 from Q in Birmingham, QR3 in RG, R2 from Q in Monterrey...).

Good luck Tereza

Re: Tereza Mrdeza cheering thread

Didn't even see the final score until now (7:6, 4:6, 6:3) - great stuff Tereza, congrats Even this has been a great showing afer a pretty awful year for Tereza, but yes, it would be nice to qualify. Kovinic hasn't been playing great lately, but has taken the top seeded Pfizenmeier out of Izmir 25k 1 & 2 back in August. She's had better results on clay (two 25k's and a QF in WTA Budapest) this year, but really nothing too spectacular in terms of individual wins.

Tereza obviously loves the conditions in Moscow - let's hope the love affair doesn't end for at least another day

Re: Tereza Mrdeza cheering thread

Tereza's points in 2013:

- in the first 7 tournaments 213 - including QR3 in Melbourne, QF in 75k Eilat and R16 from Q in Bogota, Florianopolis and Monterrey WTA's
- in the next 7 tournaments 45
- in 7 tournaments after that 81 and counting (could be 9 more today)

Goes to show how well she played this past Winter/Spring and how little she won since mid April. Quite unbelievable how her form went down. Not sure if injuries played a part there (hope not) or was it just the inability to find her own game again. But on a bright side, the momentum seems to be getting back - just her willingness to come to Moscow and play at a Premier event speaks enough. It really looks like she's reagaining both her game and her confidence back.

Today, 3rd match after 11 AM. Good luck Tereza!

Re: Tereza Mrdeza cheering thread

4:6, 3:3* after an important hold. Based on what's available in the stats it's obvious that Kovinic is better after 1st serve, regardless if she is serving or receiving that first serve. In other areas they're quite close.

Re: Tereza Mrdeza cheering thread

Kovinic serves 2 DF's now for 15:30 - looks like a chance for a break!

6 consecutive points for Tereza who holds to love for 5:3. Just two points in total setting the two apart.

Ajmo Tereza!!!

Re: Tereza Mrdeza cheering thread

After 8 points in a row for Tereza (and 2 more DF's for the Montenegrin) Kovinic won one but it wasn't enough to save the set; Tereza breaks to 15 to win the set 6:3 and secure initial serving in the decider

Another love service game! Crucial time now, Kovinic must be vulnerable!
