What a result! Just to remind those who forgot, something similar happend with Petra Martic last year, also after playing Fed Cup - whatever it is that Majoli is doing to motivate/inspire her girls, it's obviously working (keep doing it Iva). Petra even said last year that Iva played a major role in her psychological improvement coming into Kuala Lumpur. Hope something similar is happening to Tereza in Bogota. Really excited for her, hope this is a start of something great, cause this girl seems capable of doing some pretty big things in tennis. Anyway, tough luck about the quali placements, but maybe Meusburger wouldn't be a bad draw since Tereza probably saw her play in FC (we were in the same group) and probably noticed a thing or two that could help her in the match.
This also means a new CH ranking for Tereza, in the 170s
I absolutely love that Tereza hasn't had a meteoric career rise but that instead she has sneaked up the rankings, gradually and steadily (she must be one of the least know players in the top 200). Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but to me her career arc signals hard work, maturity and even career longevity.
I believe this will be only her third match against a top-100 player. The first of those was against none other than Parmentier herself. It was back in 2011 and Tereza lost easily, 2 and 1. Hope she can do better this time. Good luck!
