Re: Tereza Mrdeza cheering thread

This week Tereza climbed from #471 to #376 .

Also, this week she plays on 25000$ Moscow, and in today in R1 she defeated seventh seed Varvara Galanina (#277) 6:0 6:2

Tereza is really on fire

Next round opponent will be either some unranked player, either Drantes of Russia, ranked 621. GL

Re: Tereza Mrdeza cheering thread

Wow, a QF here would push her another 40 places or so! She's sure to finish '09 inside top400, which is nice after finishing '07 barely inside top800 and '08 outside of top600 - she's advancing fast this year, even top300 doesen't seem impossible!

In R2, Tereza plays Marenko, an unranked wildcard with a career-high ranking of #991. Tereza should win this match (even if Marenko did beat Dranets--the #2 seed in qualies--easily, 62 61).

By the way, Tereza is also playing doubles (with RYZHONKOVA). In R1, they beat the #3 seeds, POLTORATSKAYA/ZHARKOVA.

Re: Tereza Mrdeza cheering thread

She's also on the list for another 25k in Moscow next week and should get directly into the MD.

Re: Tereza Mrdeza cheering thread

Just checked - her h2h with Orlova is 1:1, both times it was tough, last time in '06 Tereza won on hardcourt, but Orlova won a clay match (like what this one's gonna be) a year earlier. Anyway...

...ajmo Tereza

Wow, great results from Tereza lately. With this latest win she'll move up to ~345-350.

Re: Tereza Mrdeza cheering thread

Tereza is just in an amazing form:

Tereza MRDEZA (CRO) defeated Natalia ORLOVA (RUS) (4) 7-5 6-2

This win shows her real value at the moment.

Next opponent is second seed Ekaterina Ivanova, ranked #149. Great chance for Tereza to "feel" top 200 play. No pressuer and no expectation, just good luck

Re: Tereza Mrdeza cheering thread

Wow, another impressive result! With this win, Tereza will move to ~330. This is fantastic progress, considering she finished last year at #619.

In her last three tournaments, she's 11-2, and both those losses were to players well inside the top 200 (Wienerova, #130, and Adamczak, #164).

Re: Tereza Mrdeza cheering thread

She lost 2 and 1 () but it's still a great result, and it's also experience that counts. She'll also play semis of doubles (although againts the top seeds), so her doubles ranking will also improve significantly - at least ~170 places up. Not that she'll be ranked high in doubles (far from it), but it's a nice jump.

P. S. She's 2nd outside of MD for next week's Moscow 25k, so she should get in!
