Re: Ajla Tomljanovic thread!

Ajla lost third set 36
What a week for her anyway.
She had her chances in this match too which is great indication how well she has been playing.

Re: Ajla Tomljanovic thread!

Yes, too bad she lost. 110 points is huge for her, but she had a great tournament.
She was close to win it, sad it didn't happen.

Re: Ajla Tomljanovic thread!

I'm so proud, Ajla made it so close against Kirsten who will enter TOP 20 next week.

I thought that Ajla can't do a lot in this match, but she was equal to Flipkens and that makes me happy for Ajla's future.

Can't wait to see her again in action, congratulations again Ajla for wonderful tournament

Re: Ajla Tomljanovic thread!

Ajla So amazing week. Just hope she can continue on other tournaments like this. And hope that she doesn't have injury.

Ana Konjuh | Donna Vekic | Mirjana Lucic-Baroni | Ana Ivanovic | Nicole Vaidisova

Re: Ajla Tomljanovic thread!

Hope nothing's wrong with Ajla, she had enough health problems for this life.

This is a nice result for her but the sad thing is that i wouldn't be surprised at all if this will remain the best Croatian result this year unless Martic finally starts playing (just to be clear reaching final in some tournament like Tashkent is not bigger than this). I gotta say i was quite euphoric after FED cup, but Vekic losses to BMS and Vesnina, Konjuh injured, and Martic losing to anything that walks has pulled me hard back to earth. Tomljanovic is a pleasant surprise and i have no doubt she will reach top100 this year if she stays healthy, but can she do much more that's to be seen (quality she's got but that's not always enough). Clearly she's our no.1 at the moment and i wish her all the best in the future (main draw at the US open looks like a realistic goal)

Now get beck to challengers so i can finally see you play again (i'm really pissed there was no stream for any match in this nice run)

Re: Ajla Tomljanovic thread!

As everyone else I feel bad about the loss, but there's no sign of disappointment for me.

This is by far the best result she ever made and she is showing an amazing progress this year so overall I couldn't be happier about this year's Miami. This tournament will not only be a boost for her in terms of finances and ranking points, but also, and more importantly, it's an event that showed her just how well she can play. She demolished Pervak - who is a former top 40 and a top 100 regular - leaving her with just 4 games, she took out a current top 30 Goerges in straight sets and managed to win a nailbiter against Petkovic, a returning top 10. She also put in a lot of resistance against one of the fastest rising players on the Tour, who is now as high as top 30; that's a lot to be proud of.

If Ajla can continue playing like this, it should be no problem for her to secure a GS MD in time for Melbourne, if not even NYC. Really hope to see her back soon, and fighting just as hard. Amazing job Ajla

Hope she is feeling OK, cause there were some MTO's taken during her match yesterday.
