Re: Ajla Tomljanovic thread!

6-6 lol Does Ajla even have a "serve". I think she just jostles it to the other side of the net.

Re: Ajla Tomljanovic thread!

I can't believe this.
When I watched Glushko on one occasion she was such a bad player and now she seems to be better than Ajla.

As hard as it sounds, this probably just shows her true potential.
Ajla is probably not really a good player. Just good enough for challenger level.

Re: Ajla Tomljanovic thread!

3-2 for Ajla has 2 serves to go up 5-2.. But well its Ajla so the score is 3-4

Yeah for now she is, but she is young, if she keeps playing at this challenger level she will certainly break through one day, but not as fast as we hoped for.
If Glushko can then anyone can...

Oh man are you serious.
Cmon mate, this was the weakest part of the draw. She couldnt have asked for a weaker field.
And yet she still cant qualify for a major. Im usually not really pessimistic, but she aint going nowhere in my opinion.
Challengers wont feed her, Id suggest her to go to College and make something out of herself.

Being 18 years old only qualified ONCE for a WTA event let alone for a Slam tournament, is not enough, theres not enough determination, potential and probably talentto "break through". Otherwise this would already have happened.
Sure, now Im the pessimistic asshole again as usual now.
But what is the excuse this time considering that she is 18 yo - one of the weakest Q Draws now??
Probably "she is still young", "better luck next time AO2012 will be crucial for her", just like RG2010, W2010,USO2010,AO2011,RG2011,W2011, USO2011...
Im not even bitter about that loss, felt like this for a quite a few months now about her, but there was always still some hope, well even this is gone now.
With all due respect considering, Glushkos first round match, I think even Ash Barty would have beaten her.

Re: Ajla Tomljanovic thread!

^^
What about all those players who enter top 100 in their 20s for the first time?
They also should have given up when they were 18 and didn't even have ranking to enter qualies of GS?
Yeah Ajla is not that good now, but should not just give up so easily...

Re: Ajla Tomljanovic thread!

Standing at the same place for 2 year, in a big shit hole. And it was ok to do like this when she was 16. 17 but now this is just not good. She had a CHANCE. Again she failed.
She doesn't have it, lets face it. Maybe she can find it one day but she's no longer considered to be TOP 10 potential. to another Croatian talent that's never gonna make it

Re: Ajla Tomljanovic thread!

Ajla with her current level should be playing juniors. And I doubt she would even win junior US Open now.

Re: Ajla Tomljanovic thread!

You all had such high expectations, top 10???
All I know is that she has potential to be top 100 player and it will only depend on her if she will achieve it one day.
It's never too late if you keep trying...

It is sad that this is happening though...
