Looking great.

Just so you know: I'm better than you because my fave is better than your fave. Your fave is a bitch and a shrieking BBB. Or was it pusher? Who cares. She's a classless brat anyway. But don't you dare insult my fave, idiot.

Re: ~Petra Martic~

Sorry if it was already mentioned, but Petra Martic changed her coach.

Instead of Hungarian Zoltan Kuharszky, new coach is Indian Raja Chaudhuri

Do we know anything about Chaudhuri's qualifications? I had never heard of him...

This can sound cruel towards someone who's been with her for so long, but I have to agree.

Re: ~Petra Martic~

Any idea if he will coach Petra full-time or if it's some sort of part-time arrangement?

Re: ~Petra Martic~

Some translating practice for me this morning...

http://www.dugirat.com/sport/129-ten...jenila-trenera

PETRA MARTIC HAS CHANGED A COACH

Petra Martic decided for a change. A coaching related change. Our player's potential is big, and the results lately haven't been what her fans, but what's most important, she herself, would want. So Petra decided that the best thing to do would be to thank her long time coach for his services. Therefore, Hungarian Zoltan Kuharszky is no longer Petra's coach. The new one is an Indian Raja Chaudhuri who has so far worked with Julia Goerges, Lisa Raymond, Jill Craybas... It's a chance for a new rise of a player from Duce, who is currently outside the circle of world's 100 best players.

India's Raja Chaudhuri is the new coach of Petra Martic

- Time has come to give it a try with someone else. My new coach is already on the way - said Petra. And he is arriving from - India?!

- Yes, here, I'll write you his name - said Petra and wrote down a name, Raja Chaudhuri. He is Indian and I know him from the Tour for some time now. Seems like he should be a good choice - she added.

She doesn't need someone to teach her how to play tennis. She already knows how to do that quite well. What she needs is a motivator, someone who'll push her.

- Yes, someone to bang me over the head - illustrated Petra, who is currently outside of top 100, but until next June has practically no points to defend. That's a space for work with a new coach and improvement.

She'll also, on a more serious basis, hire a physio from Split, Robert Prusac, who's been with the Croatian Fed cup team for an eternity now. So Indo-Croatian combination is a formula for Petra's rise to the top. Where she belongs.

Re: ~Petra Martic~

http://www.jutarnji.hr/mats-wilander...-sve-/1031704/

And a stroll down the memory lane, to June of last year. I don't think this was posted before. Also, I won't translate the title as it's one of those bombastic ones which have no relation to the article...

She's always done things a bit at a time. If it weren't for the crisis of 2010, which shot her down far outside of top 100, the career of Petra Martic would've been a great example of an athlete who improves slowly, but constantly.

She started believing

Even that brief wandering hasn't dramatically changed the path of her success, which got a new rise after a win against Marion Bartoli. Her first top 10 win, first entry into the third round of a major, even the first real chance for the wider domestic public to get to know her. During the third set against Bartoli the phones rang, with comments pretty much the same: "Listen, she's not bad this Martic girl". Far from bad, especially when she convinces herself that she can do whatever she wants.

Vedran Martic, a man who, in tennis terms, knows her to the bone, admits that she needed such a win very much.

- Oftentimes it would happen that she wouldn't believe in her success. When she'd go out on court against some of the best, often she'd ask her mother: "What if I lose 6-0, 6-0?" But after she has this season defeated Jelena Jankovic, lost to Stosur 7-6 in the third and now took out Bartoli, I'm sure she won't be asking such questions - explains Petra's second coach, with whom she is not related by family, and works with for the past 6 years.

Since she started working with Zoltan Kuharszky, a former coach of Capriati and Huber, the Martic - Martic colaboration is only a part time one. Whenever is Petra in Split, she is working with him, a former coach of Goran Ivanisevic.

- They're even comparable. Petra sometimes actually has too many solutions on court, so she doesn't know what would be the best to pick. It was the same with Goran: he could've serve and volleyed like Sampras, hit the ball like Agassi or "moonball" like Muster, but sometimes he didn't know how to make the most of it.

Compliments from Mats

Impressed with the tennis produced on Wednesday at Suzanne Lenglen court by a 21 y.o. from Duce, were also some of the biggest authorities in tennis. Mats Wilander was astonished with the impressive array of solutions presented by a player with whom he obviously wasn't failiar enough.

- Where was this girl by now? Considering she knows and can do pretty much anything, I believe her place is a lot higher on the ranking list - assessed Eurosport's commentary star.

There's enough time for a climb up the rankings. As world's #50 she's got only five players younger than herself ahead of her: Pavlyuchenkova, McHale, Hercog, Pervak and Halep. Times when the teenagers have dominated the women's tennis are over, and Petra's great advantage is that she is not spent and should last for a long time.

- She has finished high school by attending the classes quite regularly. Many people were telling us she needs to practice more, while she was training tennis for two hours a day and gave one more hour to fitness. Today that's her advantage, with 21 years of age, she is just starting - concluded Martic.

Agreed, his resume is clearly "unimpressive", the players he coached, noted above, haven't done much in singles.......Georges, specifically, currently a mess and who should be ranked in the 200s (loses to anyone, regardless of rank), Raymond, who abandoned singles for doubles to further a professional career and Craybas just a lifetime also-ran. A coaching change is indeed warranted, but I was hoping for Ivanovic's last coach, for he could help Petra develop a baseline game to compliment her dropper and extensive use of the slice, something that I hope she tones down in the near future (January, Aussie land) and put some added weight on those bones. Petra is too skinny (weak) to put away sitters and her ground game is too loopy and light from the baseline for her to compete and ascend in the rankings, plus likely lacking a lot of confidence given her results this year. However, she's made the change and all we can do is wait and see what this guy can do for Petra next year, tho' admittedly, not very optimistic given this coach's history.
