Re: Caroline Garcia

Excellent analysis.

I think you described very well all the challenges she faces right now to make it to top 100. I may just add the fact that a lot of her problems (bad shot selection, standard aggressive game) can be accounted for her lack of confidence in herself. Because she felt crippled, she was unable to raise the level of any sector of her game - in that respect, an effective serve is, as you said, the best option for her. It's nearly impossible to beat your opponent when you're already fighting against yourself. Having said that, I have no idea of what she can do to change her body language. Even a good week of tennis wasn't enough.

I will repeat it in my head for times again and again =/ there I knew she can win it in two obviously she messed it up totally I even dont know how could she and Pfizenmaier took the set and in third after 2nd set I thought it will be much worse but her returning =/ oh and yeah she definitely could break Pfizenmaier instead she got broken. And she is so pesimistic on court she can hit such unbeliavable winners... I dont understand her and at times she was sooo defensive whereas Pfizenmaier defensive was much better and it showed. Last game from her was just simply there was the point at 53 15-0 and she played it well but too carefully and Dinah had quick legs whole match and won that point =/ simply I dont know I am seriously losing faith in her. She will never reach her potential will she even reach top100 its all over everywhere the same she is balbashing not constructing the point. I really dont know any other player not using their game, talent...as much as Caroline. Obviously Pfizenmaier did play well butCaroline could and should win it. What do you guys think what do you expect next, through the season? Imo it will be the same still her ranking will be now even worse like 159. which makes it even tougher. I should have never watched her last year playing Masha and I would never know about her and not wory about her and feel sorry for her etc... =/
WTA is a tough place for teen agers. None of the teen agers including Caroline, Robson, Muguruza Blanco and Putinseva made it past R1 at RG.

Caroline has the same power game as Sharapova when Maria won Wimbledon in 2004 but the competition is different now. We need to be patient.

Re: Caroline Garcia

There is a video of Caroline being interviewed on Roland Garros website. She actually seems upbeat, but who knows if that's just for the cameras. When asked what she is taking away from the loss she answered "I can say that I'm a little bit happy because I fight all the match and it's important for the next. Maybe I have some points to be better, serve and sometimes forehand, backhand. I have next tournament I can play and be better". Hmm.

And for her usual standards, she sort of did. I understand what she's trying to say.

Re: Caroline Garcia

to answer you Corswandt Fontang was a coach who had been given by the fft to Caroline in order to form her

as for her "defending" side, I dont agree with you, I think even if you're an offensive player you HAVE TO be good on defense and work also on it. Just look at sharapova, she never been a defender nor a patient player but she worked hard on her foot work to improve

caroline has to work on her serve but especially on her physical condition too. She must become a complete player and not only an offensive one or just a good server...

she must find a good coach quickly cause she needs to work harder imo

Re: Caroline Garcia

Even if I'm not a fan of his tactics of transforming a player into a ballbasher, I think Mouratoglou wouldn't be a bad coach for Caroline. His help will reach its limits to some extent but I am sure he would be able to teach her how to be confident on court.

Not saying she shouldn't work on that. Just reminding that ROI from work done on her defense will be small as she'll never be that good at it.

She w/d from Nottingham I and Nottingham II (was MDO) a while ago. Is she playing Birmingham to get some grasscourt matches before English Open qualies?
