I noticed that Kiki did not have her own thread. But after her recent results I think she deserves one.

Hope those ankles will hold up. She has had 2 weeks of rest after her Wimbledon loss and the draw in Bad Gastein has been done. She is seeded #5 and is playing a qualifier in the 1st round.

Kiki withdrew from Stanford, which is not a bad choice in my opinion because we know she is a bit injury-prone and a week of no tournament in a 7 week trip seems justified to me :yeah:

it's been quite much of a bad day for Kiki in Bad Gastein, but if you wish to know more about her loss I wrote a match report as I was there watching, if you want to I can also share some of the pics I took of her: http://ski-and-tennis.blogspot.it/2013/07/bad-gastein-day-2-review.html
The Stanford draw is done, Kiki plays against wildcard Nicole Gibbs in the 1st round. This might look like an easy draw, but Gibbs won 50k Yakima 2 weeks ago and with Kiki in this form I am not expecting an easy match

I highly doubt Kiki will win this
First, Gibbs is really a Top 80 player but because of college commitments only players tennis in the Northern Hemisphere summer.
Secondly, this is where Gibbs studies and she won a round here last year so a win for Kiki really will be difficult as this is her "home" tournament
Still, best of luck and prove me wrong like Aran and Indy did
Losing 6 matches in a row and not winning a set in her last 4 matches
Hope she can turn this around quickly, because she can get a bit down on herself when it's not working and start having doubts. Hope she can break this losing streak asap
Lost 1st set 46 to Cepelova in Washington, was down *1-4, then won 13(!) points in a row, to 4-4 15-0. Then she lost the next 7 of 8 points to drop the set. She was down *0-3 40-A as well, but didnt go down a double break.
Kiki nutcase Such a shame, she is serving really well, 70% 1st serve in!
She has snatched a break in the 2nd now *1-0. Cepelova is unfortunately serving even better than Kiki, 85% first serve in, which is really an Errani-like stat :spit:
And now a 2-0* lead in the 2nd, fending off 2 breakpoints
Edit: *3-0, Kiki has got a foothold in this set, a double break up now. Hopefully she can win a set, she lost all of her slump matches in straight sets too.
