Anett Kontaveit is 14 years old tennis player. She won Estonian national championships in 2009. Could she be new star for Estonia in future? Atleast there is hope for that. This thread is for her. So let`s share Anett`s tennis results and talk about her tennis.
Losing in straights in R1 at a 25k against a player whose last (and not very successful) tournaments were at the beginning of November in Egypt :spit:
She has a long long way to get back to where she was last summer.
Anett went for a nice big flop today vs Kudermetova. 6-3 6-2. She had many many opportunities and it was evident that Kudermetova obviously did some goof things but this result really is disappointing. Off the ground she has nothig to hurt Anett and Anett seemed to serve poorly. Hopefully she does better in Doubles + St Petersburg but this is for sure a terrible start.
I assumed thats he would improve after Fed Cup. Why did she play so much worse than in Australia
Kudermetova is a solid player on Fast Indoors with her weapons but it's not like she has any standout results. Her only comparable result to Anett really is the 100K QF in Astana where she beat a series of average players
Such a disappointment as she could have picked up some nice points here to defend last years. Although even if she scraped through here she wouldn't have beaten Jorovic. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise
Yes she was struggling in the Fed Cup matches, but the 2nd half of her final match (against Klepac) was already pretty OK. Of course Klepac may not be that much of an indicator as she is ranked very low in singles.
Anyway, now we all see what a longer break can do to your game.
Luckily not so much time to go until clay season starts
Will Anett hit it off with Osprey 50k at the very end of March? And then follow the same path as last year by playing the rest of the 50s in the States.
HAHA never thought I'd ever say that I was excited for Clay season  She should do well though, I like how she plays on CLay with more angles and topspin AGainst Cornet last year she managed to hit tonnes of winners and very few errors
Still she has Doubles and St Petersburg to go
Yeah, but with the combination of circumstances which occured, it's not surprising. Nichka is a good player and has weapons, especially her serve. So if Anett had a bad serving day then it was very possible Nichka could pull this result. Hopefully she continues it against Jorovic thoough, else SM and the crew will arrive  Also Nichka has a much better game than Pushorovic
I hope Anett does play the 50Ks again. She had good results last year and she has surely improved since, at least in terms of ranking. She could probably win 1 to tell you the truth. I hope she plays some more ITF again this year though to build up her confidence and a ranking. Especially in light of her recent results
HAHA I was going to post that. Jorovic is supremely average but I thought she would do tonnes better than Anett  Maybe the result wasn't completely Anett and Nichka is going places this year
HAHA, I think everyone does when someone beats her. They were so ridiculous when she beat Ana
Anett has veen very quiet about her loss Although she normally is unless it's in dramatic fashion
BTW Anett is rapidly approaching a 2nd Volume, a wonderful step in Subforum direction :haha:
they need more votes and requests. thats more important than number of posts. all the baltic members need to request. does iPatty even like any of the baltic players. he looks more like a fan of usa itf scrubs
