Our junior tennis on decline?

With our best Juniors moving to pro circuit, there seems to be no replacement. Russian presence at this US Open Junior tournaments is next to zero. Is it a new tendency?

just there happens to be some voids that occur in cycles.
there's still quite alot of new kids on the rise.

Alisa Kleybanova is only 14 but played a $10k this week instead.

the ONE thing that stopped our girls coming to US open was the $25k in Zhukovskiy which clashed.

really glad we got a $25k again but bad clash of dates.

All our junior girls who didn't come were in there except Kleybanova and Linetskaya (Fano $50k).

Good luck to my favs

And we did no damage whatsoever at OB this season. Something is definitely going downhill.

Alisa was injured/ill and had to withdraw
and only Anna Tchakvetadze was likely to go anywhere from those that played.

Cant win OB every yr but we didnt win a slam either, then again non did in 2000 as well or 2001

its definaltely was one of out quieter yrs but things will pick up again in not too distant future.

Ekaterina Makarova/Regina Kulikova, Ekaterina Kosminskaya will come good in next 2 yrs or so as well as ALISA

some others didnt play much juniors like Shvedova.

Good luck to my favs

Vitalia Diatchenko you mean, quite possibly , she's 13. Don't know anything about her, see how she does in next 1-2 yrs.

Good luck to my favs

We were all spoiled in recent years with all the fine Russina juniors. But it does appear the well that produces these fine prospects is running dry. But there is reason to hope that Alisa Kleibanova could be a special tennis player.

Happiness is like a cat. If you try to coax it or call it, it will avoid you. It will never come. But if you pay no attention to it and go about your business, you'll find it rubbing up against your legs and jumping into your lap. - William Bennett

A. Kleybanova recovered well from her injury which costed her the participation in the Orange Ball. We'll never find out, what she would have done there. She's just won the Yucatan cup. Well done Alisa.
