It's gonna be tougher for Lena to get in the Top 10 than I thought before.
She will need to reach around 2200 points to reach Top 10... and she's at 1530 now.
Consistent results won't get her there now. She had a good tourney at Indian Wells... but she only gained 41.75 points out of that. (57 -15.25 of dropping Montreal out of Top 17.) The good thing about this, however, is that if Lena loses 1st round, it doesn't hurt her any.
Lena will have to get a few wins over higher ranked players, win a Tier II, or have a couple of Aussie Open performances (she won't be lucky enough to get what she got in US Open) in the GS's to reach Top 10.
And if Lena will reach the Top 10 this year, she better do it before US Open. She could get to the SF, and still not defend those 330 points. Lena probably won't be fortunate to receive such easy bonus points. It's unlikely that she'll face another #4 ranked player (Dokic) who won't even put up a match... or facing a Top 35 like Clarisa who can't win on Hardcourts. Plus, she's got Quebec right after that.
RG and Wimbledon are big for Lena, though... I wanna see at least 1 QF there... then she has a chance at Top 10.
